I have such mixed feelings about Ursula. Part of me genuinely despises her for what she is willing to do to Alejandro. The fact that she can look at a sixteen-year-old boy’s life and simply decide that her money, her connections, and her lawyer will be enough to erase the consequences is absolutely horrifying. But at the same time, her backstory makes it impossible for me to see her as simply a monster. She lost her son, destroyed the remnants of her old life, and poured everything she had left into Fernando as her last chance at redemption. There is something deeply tragic about that. I hate what Ursula is doing, but I also find myself feeling sorry for the woman who became this powerful, terrifying person because she could never accept losing someone she loved again.
