Hello to anyone who is reading this. I just want to thank all those who have taken a chance to read my story so far. I really appreciate it, it really motivates me to keep posting. If you have any advice on how I could improve the reading experience for you, please don't hesitate to drop me a comment.

The story I am currently posting is part of a trilogy, which has been written in its entirety, however it still requires a great deal of editing and therefore a lot of work. I suppose the benefit of being bedridden with mecfs is I have a lot of time, but not a great deal of energy.

It is not exactly a conventional cats story. I suppose you could read it as an AU of sorts. Not exactly my personal take on cats, merely an idea that started out as a daydream, which has slowly evolved over the thirty years that I have been fixated on the musical Cats; and in particular, a certain silver tabby.

I would imagine him sitting down in front of me, staring right at me, as cats do, and saying, "Zen. Please, I am begging you. Write my story. It is time that somebody told it."

And every time I feel like giving up, he plonks himself down in front of me again and looks at me disapprovingly, and repeats the same thing. "Write my story. I'm counting on you!"

Maybe I am crazy, I don't know. But that is what has kept me motivated over the two years that I have been working on this project.

I also intentionally wrote the story so that readers outside of the cat's fandom might enjoy it too. I mean, if you love cats, you're going to love this story.

Update 11/1/2026
Small update and partial rewrite for PLT... HOWEVER, I've taken the decision NOT to post the final chapters just yet since I'm not quite 100% happy with them and, although not related to the current work, they do contain similar world building elements which might clash a bit. I knooow it's frustrating, but good things and all that.
Good news is: Chapter 2 of TSP WILL be posted today.

Update 4/1/2026

Happy New Year everybody! And to celebrate, I have good news: The story is done! Prologue will be uploaded today.

Please note that this fic is written in its entirety with just some additional editing required. A new chapter will be posted every Sunday.

This is an AU of sorts, or rather my interpretation of Cats the musical, partly canon oriented, but also with a ton of lore I made up. Recommended reading age 18 plus.

Note: this fic is set in 1940s London, therefore the language reflects that geographical location and timescale.
