SNEAK-PEAK FOR PART 18 ON SOMEONE I USED TO LOVE!!
I rubbed his cheek with my thumb and faintly smiled before shortly letting go. Coming to my surprise, Len frowned once my touch faded in warmth; but I think he will cherish it, like what I used to do when he once held me.
Neru: Of course she did. Teto still likes you Len. You do know that, right?
Len nodded, looking away and staring at a pale-blue, crystalline rose, growing within the shadows. I crouched towards it and lightly caressed its precious pale petals.
Then, a slow song started to stream. Len reached out his hand and I gladly accepted.
We danced in the small space we had and in each reflection I could spot, I felt like I was going to wake up and find out this was all a dream. That Len would never love me and he would never have danced with me at the struck of midnight. It would've been nice if i got my happily ever after and did get to have a romantic midnight dance though; like the infamous Cinderella. But something like that would never happen...
As the song started to fade from my ears' reach, I rested my head on Len's shoulder and once again stared at our reflection.
Len: Hey Neru...
Neru: Yeah?
Len: You're my Cinderella. And though I've caused you so much pain in the past, I hope you'll at least let me live this fairytale for at least the 3 days we've been given. 'The present is a gift' they say. And so I'll have to cherish it, and that's what I'm doing right now...
I wrapped my arms around Len and hugged him tightly. His heartbeat thumped in my ears and his soft, blonde hair brushed my cheek and ear.
Just give me this. When this project is over, I'll have to say goodbye again...
Neru: Can I ask you a question?
I felt Len nod.
Neru: Where's the 'good' part in 'goodbye'?
