Do any of you read science fiction? I've always enjoyed sci-fi movies and sometimes read sci-fi books. But lately I've been toying with an sci-fi story idea. It's been rolling around in my head for months. Given my year-long struggle writers block, I wasn't sure if I should start yet another story that I might not finish.

But, you know, sometimes you just can't tell what that thing might be that will dislodge that block. So I'm giving it a go! I'm not posting it here (at least not yet) because I want to first see if I can finish the thing. In case you're curious, it's about a team of experts sent by a corporation to an uninhabited planet to study the plants there. Things start happening, and it's unclear if the corporation might be behind it.

At first it seemed like a scifi/horror story, but that's just not my writing style, so I chanced it to a cozy science fiction story, with more emphasis on the team dynamics and mystery. I'm still in early stages, but at least I'm writing again! It's good to be back in action.

"I also worry about conditions such as muscular atrophy on low gravity, diseases, and the atmospheric pressure of a planet... I tend to over think these things," Hailey adds.

@M0N0L0GUE Cool! I think it would be so awesome to go into space one day. (And then watch me get motion sick from the experience, haha.)

@PyroTank Very good point! A specification of "uninhabited by humans" is in order.

I decided to add a little music to the intro and outro of my Siena audiobook. I think it gives it a little something to get the listener ready for the story. I also created a little looping video for visual interest, in case some of you are playing it on a television. What do you think? Unfortunately YouTube doesn't allow me to replace videos, so I had to upload a whole new one. If you already peeked at it before and Liked it, could you go do so again? I had to unlist my original video. Thank you, and enjoy this new version! https://youtu.be/MsHTCsSG2cE

Did you know that Book 1 of my Forestfolk series, called Siena, has been available in audiobook format on Audible for years? Well, for the first time ever, it's available for free! It's the exact same audiobook, narrated by the wonderful Annlan Tran, now available on YouTube. I'd love it if you'd give it a listen because it deserves some love. Thank you for being awesome followers!

Ever wonder what the Ghost of Christmas Future does when the holidays are over? Probably not, but I did! If you have a spare 6 minutes, give this quick story a listen. I had fun writing it! https://youtu.be/GwvZomIthMo

@Zoe_Blessing And really cool inspiration at that!

Are you a fan of my Forestfolk series? Did you happen to read the prequel I wrote for it, Remi's Great Escape? I've created an audiobook for it! If you'd like to give it a listen (for free!), you can find it here: https://youtu.be/hfQ4CQwL-cI

I find that listening to a story offers a different experience, even if I've already read it. It's like an alternative way to enjoy the same story. Give it a try! And while you're at it, be sure to Like the video so it gives me a bit of a boost. Thank you so much!

No pressure at all, but I think it might be right up your alley. Thanks for considering, and happy reading!

Two new audiobooks have been uploaded to my channel. If you're in the mood for a fable, check out Sell Fish. If you prefer romantic saphhic stories, try Duet. You can read more about them below:

SELL FISH - An entitled newcomer who finds hard work abhorrent tries to elbow his way into a young fish merchant's business... with unexpected consequences. A story with fable-like feels. https://youtu.be/h8hQGOurWe8

DUET - A concert violinist is piqued by her mysterious new neighbor who has yet to show their face, but plays rapturously good acoustic guitar. https://youtu.be/STaViV7Uoe0

It's all free to listen! I'm only up to 64 subscribers currently, so still a long way to go to 1000, but I'll get there. :)
