Guys, I’m honestly not sure if I should keep writing this story or even continue posting others. I haven’t really been online lately, but when I logged back in to check my drafts, I saw that people (esp Taennie shippers) have been flooding the first chapter with comments.
          
          Some of them are calling me delusional for writing this fanfic, saying Jenlisa isn’t real and never was, and insisting Taennie is the only “real” thing from 2018 to 2023 or whatever. Others are saying it’s disrespectful, that Jenlisa isn’t the same anymore, that they’re not close like before, and they’re even trying to back it up with their own “proof” and theories.
          
          It’s kind of overwhelming, honestly. I didn’t expect that much negativity over something that’s just meant to be creative and fun. I get that everyone has their own opinions and ships, but the way it’s being pushed in the comments is making me question if I should even keep going with this or just stop altogether…it’s moments like this where I really wish we had a group chat or something to actually talk things through or even just share ideas, and discuss story directions for future projects. Kinda sucks.

          In Chapter 28 of Handlebars, you asked readers for their opinion about your next story—specifically whether the main character should be a girl with a penis or not. I noticed that most people suggested including a girl with a penis.
          However, I personally don’t quite understand this preference. If readers are interested in girl x girl (for example, a pairing like Jenlisa), why would they expect one of the girls to have a penis? Why can’t people simply appreciate and romanticize a relationship between two girls as they are?
          Personally, I would suggest keeping it as a girl x girl story without that element. As a Jenlisa shipper, I like to imagine them as they are—two girls—and that’s what feels most natural and enjoyable to me.
          
          May I ask what you personally prefer or feel most comfortable writing—would you choose to write it with or without that aspect?
