Hope you guys are all doing well! I'm making this post to re-affirm to all my readers that Dust Devils has *not* been abandoned and I fully intend to complete this work (yes this behemoth of a fan fiction will one day have an ending).
Writing has slowed but I still chip away at progress toward the next chapter (90% sure it will be finished and published this month). There's also the upcoming match against the French team which has been long awaited and hyped. I will say that since I view this match as hugely important for the overall story that it will be split into two parts, Chapters 99 & 100. I also hope to have a new cover for the story to commemorate Chapter 100, though we'll see how things pan out.
While I sincerely hope you guys will see Chapter 100 somewhat soon, I, like many authors, do run on Valve Time even if we don't mean to.
Now, to get something off my mind, it has been an incredibly unique experience writing this story and even more so seeing people read, enjoy, and leave their reviews. Chapter 1 of Dust Devils was first released of AO3 in October of 2019. Back then, I was just some guy going through community college. Over 5 years later, we are almost at Chapter 100 and I am on the cusp of starting my master's degree in archaeology. The passage of time is one hell of a thing.

@hepherd Hello! Yes, Dust Devils will be continuing. Writing has slowed a lot cause of a lot of things, with me mainly preparing to start my Master's Degree. But! Expect more chapters to come out this year! No matter how long it will take, I will finish this!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic holidays! Mine are going well!
Hope you all managed to read the latest Dust Devils chapter. It's a long one, almost 10k words in length. This, I hope, makes up for the lack of updates this past year. Writer's block is a hell of a thing.
My goal for 2024 is to update more often because we all want this story to have an ending one day, don't we? The anticipated match between Mojave Rose and the French will for sure be next year. What will also happen is the 100th chapter of the story, a massive milestone. A friend and I are working together for a little surprise to commemorate the Big 100.
Here's to a fantastic 2024, for all of us!
