There she stood, her gaze upon the water...

A figure, under a starry sky

Like moonlight her hair shimmered,

Her dress wrapped around like a hug;

Waves lashed against the rocks where she stood,

Cold, shiver, and yet so solid.

The breeze caressed the leaves on the trees,

And whispered through the midnight

Determined on delivering a secret message that was understood by no one but she..

A call from the past perhaps..?

Or the lure of a beautiful tomorrow,

But no one knew what she thought

Untouched, unmoved she stood,

Almost scary in her stillness

A silhouette, a ghost at that...

Pale and slender, and oh so precious!

And then realizing she was not alone...a shiver ran through her

as she raised tender eyes at me,

And in that minute, she saw the brilliance of a thousand unanswered questions

And she knew in that instant, the world was hers, along with their hearts.

I'm from the dust between pages
And thumbprints on spines;
From pale limbs and sunshine
That streamed in on lazy afternoons.
