@bangtan2025_ THE PIECE THAT'S MISSING I walked away, Though the weight of your shadow, Still lingers on my shoulders. Your voice, an echo carved into stone, Continues to cry my name, In the hollow corners of my mind. You were the storm I fled from, And the fire I kept going back to, Hoping the warmth would outweigh the destruction. Alas, your love was barbed wire, That wrapped tightly and drew blood under the disguise of affection. I held your blame, An inheritance I never asked for, And wore your words like heavy chains, Even if they cut deep into me, I stayed. Because you were mother, And I was child. Today, I untied the knots, I let the ropes burn my hands, And pulled them off of me. The air feels lighter, mom, The horizon wider, And yet there's a hollow in my chest, An empty space where you used to be. Like a puzzle missing a jagged piece, Like a star dimmed from a constellation, Like the red stolen from a rainbow, Like the pearl lost to the ocean's depths, I am incomplete, Even in "freedom". But I am free, mom, And maybe that is enough. Maybe, one day, I will learn to fill the empty spaces, Find someone to fit that missing puzzle piece, Find the star to my constellation, Find a pink to the red, Find a new pearl. Until then, I carry your absence, Not as a burden, But as a reminder that I survived. ~Nova
