The Reapers tale was rather nice. I gave the first chapter a read. The way you write is very poetic and descriptive. While I like this type of writing, some may find it overbearing. (But stay true to the way you write).
The character was interesting enough for me to think “well, how is this character going to interact with Night Raid?”, which is good.
The word count at the end does show the work you put in, so if your comfortable showing that, do so. Myself, I usually at least try to go for 1k words, but my style of writing is obviously more verbally driven.
I’m not sure how you will do with different characters conversations (as there was no talking in the first chapter, which is good to leave readers wondering) but do keep in mind that the characters that you don’t create need to stick with their mindsets, they can’t change on a whim. (Though I did this A LOT when I first started writing fanfic. And it’s hard not to do it.)
Make the characters believable, and connect them with a broad story with many arcs, maybe give tiny hints of the ending arc through the story. (But don’t make it obvious).
I’ll add this one to my reading list for now, and when I find time in my sadly big schedule, then I’ll give t a look every now and then.
