I hated how they ended vol 3 of season five.
(Read at ur own risk)
Will deserved a happy ending and not some random ahh epilogue boyfriend. Which isn’t even confirmed to be real, could just be something Mike made up. As a queer person myself I hate that media refuses to give the queer characters a love story. Instead, they are told just to be happy with self-acceptance. Self-acceptance is no easy feat, but queer characters deserve to be able to get the boy. Or to get the girl. The storyline for ages is always the boy gets the girl. But why can’t that happen in queer relationships? No, they get pushed to force into mainstream society. Even with Robin, she didn’t get her happy ending at Enzo’s with Vickie. Instead we get the implication that they broke up. And even then it was a side ship and NEVER heavily focused on. We didn’t get to see the development of their relationship, just that they are together. Not even how they ended up together. But we get that with ALL the straight ships. Lazy writing and trying to accept to heteronormative standards and mainstream society.
All of this to say I’m writing a Byler fanfic taking place after Will’s coming out scene. I will probably also do some oneshots of different scenarios I wish they would’ve explored for them to end up together.
