I'm a big comic person! So yes I did get some inspo from the first movie but a lot of what I have written and what I want to write is specific things from the comics and some changes that I want to make because there are some topics and entire character arcs that completely rub me the wrong way in both the movies and the source material.
Examples of things I want to change:
- Dinah is the entire team's therapist
Explanation: In normal psychology practices it is unethical to treat someone who has close relations to yourself or someone you know since your treatment will be biased by your previous knowledge.
- Tony's behavior and inappropriate jokes
Explanation: Tony is funny and smart as hell, but on multiple occasions, he has made offensive jokes that were not only not funny but also completely unacceptable
-How often female heroes and their issues are almost completely overlooked
Explanation: Heroine figures in comics are always done dirty in some way shape or form. The top three ex that come to mind are Captain Marvel's R*pe arc in the Marvel Comics 197-200, how weak the girls on the team are portrayed at the beginning of the first season, and Black Widow's arc with Thor's hammer being ignored in the movies.
Examples of things I want to emphasize:
-How damaging hydra was to those who survived
Explanation: I have found that a lot of the Marvel fandom (mostly incels) like to victim-blame characters like Natasha Romanoff, Bucky Barnes, and Yelena Belova for either not fighting hard enough to get out of Hydra or for being too "Sensitive" about what happened to them when in reality what happened to them was so damaging that they are still trying to process what happened to them even years later.
-stuff spider-people have gone through
Explanation: Out of everyone in every hero universe, the heroes in the spider-verse have always gone through the most tragedy and somehow they are still throwing jokes just like punches
