AND SO MY PEOPLE
because the lore beckons me today, I thought I'd announce the origin of the name 'Ivre'.
Short story long, he was originally meant to be the teacher, and Eris the pupil. Think Grandpa vibes- but drunkard. I thought of wine stains on his trousers and imagined a gun that reeked of cider.
Then I scrapped him.
In his place I brought in our hot-tempered teenager, who originally was just meant to be a thief at the docks in a random chapter.
I'll admit, I felt a bit bad for tossing the old man aside, so in his honor I named our teen 'Ivre'.
In french 'ivre' means to be drunk or to be under an alcoholic influence. You can find such a reference in Arthur Rimbauds poem 'Le bateau Ivre' , or in everyday language.
I hope you enjoyed this grain of lore.
Catch you all on the Grand Line!
