I need a REALLY good book to read. Any suggestions?

Just a small word of advice for writers: If your story is going to contain "slang" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use universal slang or none at all, UNLESS you make it VERY clear what is being said and going on. Texas slang is NOT the same as Compton slang and so on.......
