          New West ~ Those Eyes
          
          This chapter, especially the last part, was special to me because of the scene, their interaction, the childhood memories, and, of course, the song. I could read this chapter over and over again.
          
          Chapter 4.
          
          Seeing him lying peacefully and looking as handsome as ever, I can't help but admire him. While he's not looking, this is the only time I can let my guard down and gaze at him in admiration.
          
          Not wanting to disturb him, I decide to leave a note to not only inform him of my departure but also to thank him for his generosity in letting me stay for a while.
          
          Just as I'm about to turn around, he grabs my hand in a heartbeat, prompting me to turn back to him.
          
          "Please don't go," he mumbles. These three innocent words make my heart leap like a cannonball and leave me wondering what to do.

          SYML ~ Where’s My Love
          
          Before the plot of Against All Odds was even created, I had made a playlist full of small-town vibes. Listening to this song always gave me these little cinematic montages in my head, like the two love interests spending time together in their hometown lol, or characters just exploring a small town.
          
          Fast forward to when I wrote this chapter, I already had the perfect song in mind for it.
          
          ~ Chapter 2 ~
          
          A stunning sunset fills the summer sky with rich purples and pinks, casting a dreamy glow over the small town. The convenience store's neon sign softly hums as the vibrant colors reflect off its windows, creating an ethereal, and serene atmosphere.
          
          After placing the eggs, milk, and a few other items in the backseat, I open the driver's side and fasten my seatbelt. Just as I'm about to start the car, the same thing that happened back at the bus station happens again: it won't start.
          
          Unbelievable. 
          
          With no other options, I get out of the car, hoping to find someone who might help me.
          
          As if by luck, a familiar face approaches, his presence making my heart flutter in an instant.

          I was looking for a song that had a mix of road trip and small-town vibes. It took me a while to find the perfect one for this chapter, until I heard this song in one of the TV shows I was watching at the time. I fell in love with it instantly. Have you heard it before?
          
          ~Chapter 1~
          
          Not long after putting my phone away, I hear the sound of a chicken clucking. When I look up, I see an elderly woman making her way to her seat, carrying a chicken in a wire cage close to her chest and a bag slung over her shoulder.
          
          The moment our eyes meet, my gut tells me she's going to sit next to me, and I desperately hope that's not the case.
          
          As she approaches, ignoring a few empty seats in front, my heart rate quickens. My instinct is to look away, but for some reason, I can't. This only makes things worse, as she might think I'm inviting her to sit next to me.
          
          Please don't sit here. Please don't sit here.
          
          "Hi, dear, is this seat taken?" she asks with a warm smile, her wrinkles deepening at the corners of her eyes.

I’m a month late posting this (ahem, ahem…almost two months), but better late than never. Right? It’s been one year since I finished Against All Odds?, and I still can’t believe how much this story has grown since then. At the same time, we’re also so close to hitting 10K reads, so this feels like the perfect moment to celebrate both.
          
          Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting the songs behind some chapters, why I chose them, along with some of my favorite moments from each chapter and a little behind-the-scenes insight into the writing process.

          His voice cuts through the quiet and says something that prompts me to turn my head to him in surprise.
