Good Morning everyone, I know it's been a while since I posted. But I have figured out the problems I notice in my story. First of all, I am not giving up on this story, I love it very much, and it's been a long time since I've cared about and thrown myself into a story, but I will need more time. By the end of February to mid-March, I hope to republish the first few chapters of The Gates Project and go from there. After reading over the few chapters I have and the outline for the rest, I realized that although it would be easy to add a couple of scenes to each needed chapter, that will only be a quick fix, nothing that would stand long term.
The Gates Project is a character-driven story, but the plot is also essential. The project is an urban fantasy with mystery elements(murder, purebloods(vampires), witches, twin souls, and more). Families drama & royal family elements(consorts, rulers, marriage contracts/arranged marriage, deadly family secrets, including secret pregnancy and more), Lost love(the continuation of a centuries-long romance). Putting an extensive cast of known dangerous characters in one location and watching as they fight to obtain The Gates and more. The characters are the most critical part of this story, and besides the few vital facts about my main characters, I have not fully grasped the others. It will take time to fix my character's profiles and get to know them. After all this, I know my story will be stronger for it. I will be back in time.
