          While Satou is obsessively in love with Shio Kōbe, she is never shown to have sexual feelings or intentions towards Shio. This may be influenced by Satou's desire to preserve Shio's purity and innocence. Sometime after the death of Sato's parents, she was made to live with her aunt. Unfortunately for her, Sato's aunt was a hedonistic woman who slept around, as well as pleasured herself by allowing others to beat her, step on her, among other things. She is responsible for Sato's warped concept of love. Happy Sugar Life is an anime about obsession. Nearly every character is obsessed with something, believing it to be their source of happiness, their "Happy Sugar Life". However, their desires are often unhealthy, and end up harming others or even themselves.           Unlike when she visits Mitsuboshi earlier in the episode, Satou doesn't give Shoko her trademark psychotic glare; she merely seems surprised and unsure of how far she wants to go in trusting Shoko. Even trying to gently warn Shoko off, while it comes across as cold, shows that she does care about Shoko. 
          Despite the admiration that season 1 got, the network MBS decided not to renew the series for the second season. Sad to say but MBS won't pick up the Happy Sugar Life for season 2 and consequently is canceled and won't return for another round to us. TwT
