You can use the word "Copyright" instead of the © symbol of you can't find the way to use the symbol with your keyboard.
To improve your protection you may REGISTER your Copyright by googling Copyright and the country you live in to find where to find a copyright form, the address to send it and the amount of the fee.
However, anything you write is protected under US law once you have written it. Publishing it here or another online source is one way of publicly establishing the date you wrote it.
In the long run it is better to gain protection with your own name, or a longer pen name but technically you should be covered.
