@uwukiara high school wasn't "a thing" the Great Depression in the US. But the government didn't want teens to take all the jobs so they passed a law saying that everyone now had to go to grades 9-12. Before that 8th grade was considered a "full" education.  Honestly though school is bs. They need to create more trade schools that teach just what is actually needed to know. Plus the crippling debt for useless crap is an insult to injury
