I just finished reading my first book of 2022 and may I say it was a huge bust? Because yes it was. The book is placed on my lap right now as I type away on my keypad.
For those of you, who for some unforeseen reason have ended up with 'Albert Einstein Speaking' by R. J Gandey (god bless his soul) in your bookshelves, please sell it away, or better yet. . . lock it in a box and throw away the keys and then bury the box (because we must not burn books).
The misleading blurb starts with talking about an accidental call to the Einstein residence, which them grows into a friendship, the narrative is described as 'riotous, charming and tender,' it's not riotous, charming or tender. :)
It's just a biography. And not a very good one at that. The narration is flaky and bland. There's nothing happening. He takes birth, he dies. That's it. Nothing moves you, nothing stills you. The accidentally call is only mentioned again towards the very end of the story. I don't know how I was duped into buying this. :)
My condolences to the demised R.J Gadney, congratulations you managed to score yourself a publishing deal for a misleading biography while other talented authors with actual content are losing hope everyday.
Thank you, this is just a rant. I've wasted away 48 hours giving a million second chances to an already goner book. I'm usually not this judgemental towards books. . . but this one ugh.
