Enter: Me, Abigail. Aged 15, 5'6.5. Knows when to hold her tongue, but sometimes chooses not to. One time didn't high-five her acquaintance because he was wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat, and she still remembers the sad look on his face, and despite telling herself she didn't regret it, she's writing it on this bio because she's mean to everyone and never apologizes help me-
Enter: Sapphire, the persona of 7th grade me. 13 years old, 5'6.5. Annoying in every way, shape, and form. Thinks that wearing t-shirts with jeans tucked into nice black boots is a fashion statement. Captions her pictures on Instagram with some sort of cringey roleplay asterisk thing and has no regrets. Probably foaming at the mouth over some insignificant anime boy that she will forget in two weeks.
Sapphire circles Abigail for a while, wondering why she's so quiet. If she was meeting her past self, you would think she would have something to say. However, as Sapphire continued to circle her older self as though she were a lion hunting her prey, she knew Abigail was holding her tongue not because of how uncomfortable she was(although that was true as well), but it was because she truly had nothing to say. There was so much regret Abigail held that she didn't know how to put it in words.
"Don't fill up your library on Wattpad with self-inserts."
"Don't brand yourself the way you do at school, because you're stuck with these people until you graduate."
"Please don't forget to have a life. I know I do now."
"Remember that the internet isn't everything. People move on, life moves on, and your internet friends forget you."
"Keep writing. You get better."
Sapphire doesn't know what to say. She pulls out her phone. A picture of her latest anime crush smiles at her as the time reads "change your life, blockhead".
"Do it. Trust me."
Exit: Sapphire.
