I'm rereading my own story and literally cracking up, y'all.
The story is wild, but the comments? GOLD.

The urge to add this one line that makes me giggle every single time, but I know it would ruin my planned storyline. I'm crying.

@Izkzauyloitz, here's the original ending of the chapter, which I changed to not mess up my plot:

"You're right, that was a shitty move, but you don't know the whole story," I attempted to defend myself. "We have all the time in the world, I'd be glad to hear it," he said, crossing his arms over his chest expectantly.

I recounted the fight with Kath, providing some insight into the reasoning behind it, and then we shared a laugh about the bartender incident. While I left out many details, he seemed to understand my perspective a little better.

"Look," he started, breaking the silence. "First of all, you owe me a pack of cigs," we both chuckled at the reminder. "Second, as weird as it sounds, I'm low-key glad you moved on from your ex, even if it meant having sex with Tom." The room fell silent once more. Meeting his gaze, I could sense that he was holding something back.

"What is it, Bill?" I probed gently.

"I just..." he paused, seemingly battling with himself over whether to say it or not. "I just wish it was me," his words were barely audible, whispered into the quiet of the room.
