I've been thinking about it a lot recently I'm kind of feeling like I should just delete my account. I hope this doesn't seem like a cry for attention or something like that, but I don't want to just disappear without saying anything since there are actually people who read, vote, comment and enjoy my stories (surprisingly enough, lol)

The thing is, I just don't feel comfortable being on here anymore.

This summer, my Instagram acc was hacked and I used a website on someone's recommendation to see if any of my passwords had been breached and through wattpad , in actually closer to the first half of this year, my password had been acquired. I deleted that account SOO fast after making sure everything was secured. I had paranoia for ages after it even.

Not only that, but just out of curiosity I searched up some of my books and I found them on not one but two glitchy, virusy looking foreign websites. Ouch.

I'm not safe here, my books aren't safe here and I'm honestly sick of it. But I'm not sure where else to go.. Any recommendations?

Also I'd like to talk about being logged out of accounts? Are alt accounts not allowed? It's happened to me like 3 times now I just wanted to have a clear distinction between the types of books I'd be putting on each acc but a link between them as the same person

@Anony10298 Yeah I always associated wattpad with a very friendly atmosphere
( ˊᵕˋ ) I've been pretty conflicted about leaving my account up but maybe that fact that I'm thinking so hard about it is a sign that I should just leave it

Thanks so much for the suggestions ♡ I've never heard of Fanfictalk so I'll definitely check it out. I don't actually know that many credible writing apps and sites so every recommendation is precious (^ヮ^)~

I thought Archive was safe but I think I actually have seen clone websites with ff .net books on them. U know your stuff!

@Nefelibata_Soko I suppose you have went through your ups and downs here, but I think the glitchy sites copy paste from other sites too (like ff.net)

It would be nice if you kept your account (so that if you ever feel like coming back, your nest will be just as you left it, but with a 100 or so notifications). It would be easier to put your story on reading list and stuff for readers.

But if you are set on moving out, then Fanfictalk would be a good choice! You have to be at least 16 year old, though. There are even admins there who look after the whole site-- Archive and Forums-- and the people there are super friendly!

_going_ghost_

There are a million reasons why
If you kill me; I will not di-e.

          Watch, waiting, all these years
          Centuries go by in fear.
          In this tower all alone,
In this prison you call home.

What is it that you believe?
The world will die and you will grieve?
          You’re one of a kind?
          Then you’re just blind.

There are a million reasons why
If you kill me; I will not di-e.

          Reason number one,
          You’re too uptight!
          Reason number two,
          You’d scream in fright.
          Reason number three,
          You don’t have the guts~

“Oh my god, you’re absolutely nuts. What possessed you to just suddenly start singing!?”

“What possessed you to interrupt me? I wasn’t done. Nice rhyme though.”

“Ugh! Just get out, I’m not coming with you.”

You think you’re one in a billion?
I’ll tell ya reason one million
          I’m just just like you~
          Reason centillion; I’m immortal too.

“Okay, I’m not ACTUALLY immortal but neither are you, dumbass. How’d you get in your head that vampires are immortal?”

          “My relatives—”

“C’mon, at this point you know everything that came for their mouths was a lie. But it could have been an honest mistake as well. Vampires, werewolves and most ‘supernatural creatures’ live much longer than humans. You may have just SEEMED immortal to them.”

“I- I don’t even know what to say. I already knew my entire life was based on a lie but everything I thought I knew is just crumbling before my eyes...”

“You still know how to criticise my oddly-timed random bouts of singing, don’t you? I’d HATE if you lost that skill.”

“Ah, yes. You repeatedly told me there was ‘a million reasons why’ yet also provided a reason centillion. A centillion has 303 zeroes and I find that’s far more than just a million.”

“Atta girl. There’s that harsh criticism that I don’t deserve!”

@DaMoonstruckBae I’m flattered that u think so! ꒰⌗´͈ ᵕ `͈⌗꒱ <3 And it’s such a mystery lol. That song should’ve made her spontaneously decide to run away w him... guess being stuck in a tower really affects your taste in music ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“But our whispers, by all odds,
Lured our lamb between the trees
          Where listeners would often freeze.”

          Used to be:

“But our whispers, by all odds,
Lured our lamb betwixt the trees
Oft where the listeners would freeze.”

But APPARENTLY betwixt is too specific (‘between two people or things’ whereas between is kinda ‘in the middle of’ betwixt sounds WAY better tho... ╥﹏╥ )

_going_ghost_

“Often where the listeners would freeze” doesn’t really make much grammatical sense but I figured I could get away with it since old timey stuff sometimes does weird sentence arrangements like that but it bugs me too much

Midnight Whisperer Summary:

Their little backwater settlement was affectionately nicknamed 'Ghostie Grotto'. It's true name had been lost decades ago. The tall, imposing trees hung over one another and the water droplets that dripped from the leaves sounded deafening when all was quiet.

Jovis would like to say that at night the village was often silent - but his elders taught him not to lie. Each night, when the air was still and the clocks struck midnight, they would sing.

Who they were; no one knew. Some even went as far as calling them ghosts.

Not one person could agree on how the Grotto's 'ghosts' sounded. Some heard males, some heard females, some heard young and some heard old; but Jovis only heard perfection.

Nevertheless, the adults preached to the children that they must never venture out past midnight or follow the voices.

But today their voices sounded different from usual - it was so beautifully sad. And then they cried for help!

Jovis won't take long; surely he'll be back before tomorrow?

The #JustWriteIt July 2021 Prompt caught my attention so I might try it

I made a book cover already & I’m calling the book “Midnight Whisperer”

I’ll do it on the side to TKOMH it’s not priority or anything but if I’m feeling really uninspired then I’ll just pretend it didn’t happen

_going_ghost_

“A Wicked Game Of Souls & String” is now published! It’s a side story book to “The Keeper Of My Heart” and I’ll be updating them side by side (kinda?)

Once the content is out for TKOMH I’ll publish a corresponding story in AWGOSAS but I’ll probably put spoiler warnings at the start just in case
