Go with what you want to write and I usually always make an outline or write down ideas/points that I want to hit in the chapter mostly because i get all these ideas and then i forget them. Also don’t get down when you get criticized and take it as something to help you write better. Make sure too keep all your notes until you’re done writing the story. GOOD LUCK!
