I want a romance that will make me fall in love with the characters, bring me to the peak, rip my heart out, stomp on it (not too much!), then hand it back to me, neatly gift wrapped with a happy ending.

I also love larger than life characters and hidden meanings.

Neuromancer - William Gibson - for showing me the matrix before 'The Matrix' and thinking outside the box.

The Mists of Avalon - Marion Zimmer Bradley - for Morgaine.  I loved her so much, I refused to read the last chapter. I started over from page 1.
