Hello I'm here to tell you how to survive on Wattpad yeet.
You may be older in real life BUT I'M YOUR SENIOR HERE AHAHAHAH.
1. Don't do Follow for Follow. It's frowned upon.
2. Don't get engaged in fights :) If someone insults you or hates on your book, block and report them.
3. Ignore people who vote on your book and ask you to read theirs. They aren't actually sincere or interested in your writing, they're just fishing.
4. Don't go and self-promote on the message boards of famous authors. That's just disrespectful af and you'll get slammed, or totally ignored. In fact, it turns away anyone who might be potential readers.
5. UPDATE REGULARLY but be honest if you're facing problems and explain to your readers. Most people here are really nice and understanding cos we are all fellow authors :).
6. You have to really enjoy writing, and not just for fame or anything, because readers' can usually tell. Also, story quality is affected.
7. Put work into all your chapters and don't just write because you need to meet a quota :) It's mentally taxing.
8. Don't be a silent reader, actively vote and comment. Trust me, you will understand soon. Because it shows the author how to improve, and that their book is really being appreciated.
9. Most of all, enjoy yourself and make lots of nice friends!! Participate actively in book clubs, commenting, voting on the books you love :)
