Okay I'm not sure if you are getting all this because every time I try to reply it says it didn't work lol. So I'll try one more time to answer your question. Hopefully third times the charm. 
           okay hmm, from what I remember he was always nice, I mean he is in this book too, but he shows more of his darkness. Not really in a bad way just more mysterious, if that makes sense. For example when he decided to give Kyla help after he saw what happened at the party with Cedric in the beginning in this book he said he did it merely because Cedric and him had a mutual hatred. In the original he said he did it because she looked like she need help from someone and he was offering because he saw himself in her.  
          Also her mom liked him from the beginning unlike in this book. 
          
          I hoped I helped, even tho I feel like I didn't!!
