@idk_frr789 this feels so complicated because it's still recent by time you will come to peace with it. And genuinely it take immense time, holding contradiction together take alot of our brain energy reason why people look for right and wrong side. I do write too and as a writer what i think is-- book reflect that particular state of mind you were writing, it's not consistent throughout, it changes, it evolves, but i also believe craft require diversity so characters can have different morals than authors too (i have characters like these whom i don't agree with them in some cases) I haven't read TD book that much, i have personal problem where I can't read indian theme books so i don't know how much it's copied but after seeing proofs i can say content is copied alot but maybe there are moments in story they wrote by heart? Let's wish maybe, there are glimpses you saw were really original. And if you are feeling guilty you can invest in media they copied if you want maybe it will make you feel better that "i did invest in original too" also people tend to write ideal moral characters subconsciously so you can think that characters aren't total blueprint of authors, not anyone can be moral ideally. Art tends to go in extreme, righteous, though i do feel there are some problematic aspect like purity culture etc but that vary person to person. We can't do anything about plagiarism thing, it gonna sting atleast for sometime. You have to come to peace with it, i am genuinely sorry you went through this sweetums. And if someday you wanna go back....mhmm maybe write a note to yourself that why in first place you left? Talk to someone who is close to you and understand that point of view or is in same situation like you.
