to say i’m disappointed at the first episode of s3 of hotd is an understatement. if anything i grieve more for the horrible inaccuracy of the books and the asoiaf world, than the actual character deaths. i already knew they were going to pull some ridiculous changes out of their ass (like they’ve always done), but what i saw on the first episode y’all was straight up an insult bro—to grrm and to all the characters, especially jace.
it’s ridiculous how angry i am but the truth is i care a lot about these characters and the story, and to see all of it be butchered down to a shitshow of a fanfiction is crazy. like not even the slightest inaccuracy got past me as i watched the episode, and i was going insane every time i caught them. just when i thought these producers couldn’t get any more ridiculous and ignorant.
anyway, literally nobody cares but i actually have had my Jace fic already mapped out to the end for a loooooong time. still, i wanted to see what the show would do with the gullet, but after this, im 100% sticking with my plan bruh
@starleiaorgana2667 YESSSSSS forgetting Aegon and Viserys truly pissed me off. they reduced Jace down only to a reckless spoiled prince, when he actually went to the Gullet to save THEM and was the mind behind many of the Black’s plans/tactics. it was completely ridiculous to bring Rhaena and Baela too, don’t even get me started. and it did feel rushed now that i’m looking back on it, but oh well
@ _sparklykoo I think the showrunners f*cked everything by cutting off Aegon III and Viserys for the Battle of the Gullet. It made Jace look much more reckless, ngl.
And, I know I said this is my post, but I felt like his death was kinda rushed? As if the showrunners ended up filming the battle and then remembered they still had to kill Jace, so they sent a random arpony arrow, piercing Vermax, that if you blinked in that moment (my mistake) you would be left so confused as to where and when did the arrow come from.

He might’ve lost to Aegon, embarrassingly so, but he would fight to fix this, whatever it took. Call it stubborn or perseverant, Jace was not giving up.
Not on her.
For a short breath, a wave of hesitation took over him, turning his mind into mush, his fingers into a trembling fist. He didn’t let himself linger in it any longer. Instead, he let his gaze soften, and his voice call out her name.
“Dae.”
Her lilac eyes found his, and he saw it then. Her wrath unrestrained.
“One more word and I’m leaving, Jacaerys,” Daemyn snarled.
Jace froze at the sound of her voice. It hit him like a slap. Never violent, yet unmistakably meant to wound. The kind of hurt someone can only deliver when they know exactly where your softest parts are.
