( the thing about him.. he had every student reach their highest potential, he made them believe that they could do anything. nodding softly, she closed off her books, taking out her asthma pump and inhaling twice before slipping it back into her pocket. ) i'll keep that in mind— thank you, professor,,

[ he crossed his arms loosely, weight shifting onto one foot as he studied her for a moment. there was no sharpness in his tone when he spoke, only that calm, steady cadence that always made students listen without realizing. ] you’re holding back, [ he said plainly, not unkind, just matter-of-fact. ] your words are right, your work is right—but your delivery makes it sound like you don’t trust yourself. [ he stepped forward, close enough that she had to lift her chin to meet his eyes. his hand gestured lightly, urging her not to shrink away. ] lift your head, [ he instructed, his voice quiet but firm. once her gaze caught his, he let the silence stretch just enough before speaking again. ] that’s better. you see the difference? [ his mouth curved in the smallest trace of a smile, almost gone before it appeared. ] do that and they’ll believe every word you say.

( she nodded, clearing her throat and standing up, already flipping through the pages and explaining what she had done and written, her voice softly conveying her words to him across the table, as she clasped and unclasped her hands together multiple times. only when she was finished did she fall silent, allowing him to rate her mini performance ) so— did i cover all the relevant points?
