why does my favourite character always die god dammit

I've been rewatching all the seasons of Stranger Things to prepare myself mentally for the onslaught of grief that I will undoubtedly experience when vol. 2 comes out and for some reason Billy in my mind is just so hyper feminine. I don't know why I see like this but everything he does and the way he presents himself is just so feminine to me and it's confusing my 3 brain cells.
