Some years back, I was asked to write a term paper while at a Baptist seminary. I chose to write it on Baptist history. But I couldn't find any resources on the history of Baptists at the seminary. I wrote letters and made phone calls, but to no avail. I couldn't find any information at all! Needless to say, I never finished the paper.
But that search continued through the years. It was not only a search for the history, but also a search for someone who totally believed the Word of God and could teach it to me. Yes, I did find the pastor that the Lord would use to teach me not only the Bible, but also the history of the Baptists.
Not long ago, my pastor mentioned a need. When talking to others, most don't know what an Anabaptist is. He wanted a historical fiction book of short stories that would use known history to help explain who the Anabaptists were and what they believed. What were their strong beliefs that they were willing to die for?
I've never seen myself as a writer, but the Lord kept prodding me and gave me whole plots. (Sorry, pastor, it's not short stories, but here goes!) I hope you enjoy and learn from them.
