          It's set in 1840s Maharashtra and follows Kalyani, a young woman who marries a widowed landlord with infant twins — and slowly, quietly, finds her own voice in a world that never asked for it. It's not quite a romance, not quite a tragedy — more a story of self-discovery, colorism, and the beginnings of women's education in India, with just a pinch of romanticism threaded through.
