Writing a novel should make me feel studious but I fear it doesn’t
@abbysmovingcastle oof I felt that deeply. I learned more about our oceans (primarily the Atlantic and the Pacific) while looking up information for a fic than I have in my entire years at school (and I took environmental biology through multiple courses in college). Or the kind of insects you’ll find in the North Eastern part of the States.

People think that writing a novel makes you look up scientific theories and like quantum mechanics but in reality you have a million separate tabs pulled up with “100 other words to use for said” and some weird but relevant historical fact. Sometimes recipes make their way in there as well. And murder. Always murder
