          I can’t compete in ONC round 3 but maybe this one? 

I’ve decided to place Blooming Idolatry on hiatus, and not enter the final round of ONC2023. I would have loved to enter but with my closing on a home this month, and wedding planning I don’t find myself with enough time to finish the 12,000 words needed to finish out the competition. If I finish it in time I’ll still enter, but as it stands, I won’t be entering the round. 
          
          I’m also losing confidence in the plot of the book readers are losing interest within the first few chapters and outside motivation usually helps me stay on task so this Novella is bound to take a bit of time to write without that motivation. 
          
          I did however feel the 2 readers I do have should know about my decision. 

Made the ONC deadline by the skin of my teeth 
          
          Just finished the last 4 updates it took to make the word count and wrote a total of 4,000 words over the span of two days. 
          
          Round 3 is going to take a lot of discipline to cut it

Something I absolutely suck at is writing fluff content.
          
          I’m struggling to fill up the 8k word mark while keeping the pacing I want for Blooming Idolatry. I write succinctly and tend to avoid flowery language but I need that filler to bulk up the story.

          I’m sorry it took me so long to finish this chapter. Life has a way of making things take longer than you think they should.
