I have a headcanon that in another timeline, mc actually died numerous times but to not ruin the exchange program diavolo has to order Barbatos to turn back time/ avoiding mc' death. 
          
          — there's no way that diavolo is always on time to save mc. They must've foresaw it. Like the one in the tomb where mc shielded luke and beel. The timing is Krazy every time mc is in a near death experience. 
          
          I can actually imagine Barbatos asking diavolo permission if he can rewind time again and again because the human exchange student got eaten by a random demon, or when Levi is throwing a tantrum summoning lothan and thus drowning the whole house. There's no way such a fragile human with no magic can survive those chaos. 

— also, the yandere one is like. Reader gets killed and dies countless times, but for the sake of the exchange program. Barbatos has to rewind time to undo those incidences. Without knowing that, you remembered all your deaths vividly and are aware of all the happenings. Just you trying to survive the seemingly innocent otome game, but with a touch of realism of what your life may be in devildom surrounded by demons 24/7

Hmm I've been experimenting. Should I work on the " yandere various obey me x isekai reader" or a " various! Obey me x tired 24/7 keeping up with the demons reader? "
          
          The first one has a dark themes and gore. Basically darker concept and much more realistic of what your life as a normal ordinary human suddenly got teleported to hell to attend this exchange program. And the other one is basically full of fluff and character developments and more focus on plot and slow burn to fully get to know the characters— more like snippets of your daily life in devildom. Hmmm which one˃̣̣̣̣︿˂̣̣̣̣
