When you pray for someone, you're loving them in a way that is very pure. You're not trying to hold them, not trying to keep them close, not trying to make them yours. You're just hoping they are safe, that they are okay, that life is gentle to them even if you're not part of that life anymore, and that kind of love is not easy.
