Hi! I have a favor to ask...can anyone explain to me what it means if someone identifies as she/they, he/they or they/them? Does it relate with LGBTQ+?

I'm a bit uneducated about this stuff, and I think because I live in a Muslim country, where most people identifies themselves as she/her and he/him. And I feel stupid for not knowing what it means when I come online...and I want to avoid making mistakes or offending anyone.

it could mean a lot of things. one of them being not giving a damn about gender roles. if you identify as they/them in front of strangers then that could mean that you don't like people to know your actual gender. now, gender and sex is different. you get to choose which information you can disclose. you can be of female gender and some other sex. that's completely up to you. however, no body can pressurise you know your sex because that's too too too personal.

if you're unsure what pronouns to use, you can use they/them. but that's not just it. there are a lot of pronouns. kith/kiths or tur/turs. it depends on you.

you can always ask someone about their preferred pronouns so that you might avoid awkward or offending situations.

@RoseMellark4711 I've been great! June has been productive for me so far (it's only been 5 days, but let's hope it sticks). I've made progress with my WIP which I'm very much excited about (!!!) What about you? Have you finished writing Genevieve and Juliet - or started a new book that I'm unaware about?

@RoseMellark4711 hi Cam, thanks for explaining :D I'll be sure to remember this next time I found someone who identifies as above! (Also, I didn't know you identify yourself as a they/she until now, so I'm sorry if I messed up in the past)

Um quick question: if a person identifies as 'any pronouns', can I use ANY pronouns (like it doesn't matter to the person to call he, she or they) or use they/them?

❝ I hope that even when you're going through the toughest times, you remember that there are still so many beautiful things to be thankful for— things that shine the brightest light through the dark. I hope you remember to cherish the ones who light up your dark skies and celebrate the moments when the sun peaks through the clouds. And when you're in the midst of a terrible storm, I hope that always look for the rainbow— not because you're ignoring the pouring rain and roaring thunder, but because you know that rainbows and rain exist together, because you know that light is only light because of the dark. Looking for the rainbow during the rain was never about ignoring the storm anyway— it's always been about looking for the light that will carry you through. ❞
