Hey everyone!

Surprise update—this time it isn’t a new chapter, but something I’ve been meaning to share for a while: a proper Prologue. Since we’re already fifteen chapters in, you’ve all gotten to know Murasaki in the present, but this piece goes back to where it really began—her first days in Naruhata, and how Hiroshi became the unlikely guardian who gave her a home.

I wanted to give more weight to her backstory, not as an info dump, but as a lived moment that shows how she and Hiroshi found each other, and why she carries so much of what she does into the main story. Think of it as a missing puzzle piece that was always in the background.

This prologue won’t change the flow of the story you’ve been following—it just adds another layer to Murasaki’s past, and hopefully makes her choices in the main chapters hit a little harder.

Thank you for sticking with me through fifteen chapters already—it means more than I can put into words. I hope this prologue gives you a deeper connection to Murasaki, Hiroshi, and the world they’re surviving in.

Enjoy, and as always, let me know what you think!

Rather than rushing ahead with new chapters while these changes are still unfolding, I'm taking a bit of time to make sure The Zeal to Save becomes the best version of itself.

Thank you again for your patience and support.
This story means a lot to me, and I want to make sure I do it right.

INSTEAD OF AUGUST 1ST, CHAPTER 15 WILL COME OUT ON SEPTEMBER 1ST

Author’s Note – Update on The Zeal to Save
          Hey everyone

Thank you so much for reading The Zeal to Save and supporting Murasaki’s journey so far. I wanted to share a quick update:

I’m currently in the middle of what I’m calling a Polishing Phase for this story — not a full hiatus, but a focused effort to strengthen the earlier chapters and bring everything in line with how the story and characters have grown over time.

          This includes:

          Refining grammar and prose

          Adjusting pacing and thematic threads

          Evolving my writing style

Updating small but important details, like Murasaki’s hero name and design (her face and art have changed too!)

Rather than rushing ahead with new chapters while these changes are still unfolding, I’m taking a bit of time to make sure The Zeal to Save becomes the best version of itself.

If you’ve read previous chapters, you might notice small edits or new additions.
I’m also posting updated artwork, excerpts, and character content on Tumblr and Instagram during this time — feel free to check those out if you want more behind-the-scenes glimpses.

Thank you again for your patience and support.
This story means a lot to me, and I want to make sure I do it right.

Hey guys! I swear I'm not dead! Just got done with college, and I'm finally free! After months, Chapter 13, "The Weight Beneath the Quiet," is out! I'm so proud of how Murasaki's character arc is going. I hope you like it too!

Wait what exactly are Murasaki’s powers?

@Therealjunior08 It's kinda inspired from Gwen Tennyson from Ben10. She can absorb life force from plants and trees and mold it into simple energy constructs (but only simple shapes)

Hello, everyone! After a long wait, Chapter 11 "Looking Into Your Past" is out! Be sure to check it out asap! I'll add some art later on.

I apologise for taking so much of time to write just a single chapter. I was busy trying to up my social media presence. Also, I just made a new cover for the book!

Hello, everyone! After a long wait, Chapter 10 of "The Zeal To Save" is out! Be sure to check it out asap! I hope you like the art included.

I apologise for taking so much of time to write just a single chapter. I was suffering from a big disease called procrastination and writing slump. Also, college still took up a lot of my time. I apologise for this.

Also, check out Murasaki's reference sheet. Hope you like her as much as I do!

I'm not making any promises, but the next chapter will probably come out by April end.

          Thank you for reading :)
