to all my fellow americans: the sky is filled with fireworks and as we celebrate this nation’s independence, let’s not forget that the founding fathers intended the “independence” to be granted only to white men. and even now, we must continue to fight for freedom and justice for women, poc, and the lgbt+ community. trump supporters are just as bigoted as their slave owning ancestors. the black lives matter movement is still happening and will never end until black people are treated equally. yes, the united states is great, but it could be A LOT better.
