Mae Govannen Tolkien Rant Time:
          
          I am sorry but all Elrond had to do was Kick one mortal guys rear into a volcano and then the whole mess would never of started.
          
          And the Biggest plot hole in the lord of the rings is Elladan and Elrohir went all the way to Lorian and back, the fellowship could of gone with them.
          
          Haldir doesn't die in the books but he does in the film.
          
          If you think Boromir's death or anything else was the saddest thing in lord of the rings I raise you Elrond giving Arwen away to Aragorn on his coronation.
          1st his parents leave for Valinor and he never sees them again,
          2nd his adopted father threw himself into a volcano and the other one disappeared,
          3rd his Brother Elros chose a mortal life,
          4th, his wife was slain by orcs in the misty mountains 
          he lost everyone he ever loved and then he has to give his daughter to Aragorn in a hand of marriage at Aragorn's coronation and she did not sail with him to Valinor, so he has to explain to his wife their daughter choose the mortal life when he got to Valinor.
          Will someone give Elrond a hug.
          Elrond needs a hug.
