As a person living in the US, I have been absolutely devastated seeing everything going on pertaining to the police and the protests going on recently.
          
          If you don't know, recently a black man named George Floyd died under police custody simply because of his race. Everything has been spiraling out of control with the police shooting and tear gassing any protesters saying Floyd deserved justice.America was the first democracy, priding itself over its freedom, and how everyone is equal. But in truth, even after the Civil War and even after the Civil Rights Movement, racism has continued.
          
          We (Americans) live where if you're black, simply walking around in public can be a matter of life or death at this point, just like it was for George Floyd. No one chooses the color of their skin, or their race. But the police did have a choice when they shot all those people. They had a choice when they took George Floyd's life. He deserved justice, as well as all black lives everywhere. Black lives matter, and everyone should know it.
