the day everyone learns to quit jumping to conclusions is the day we’ll finally all be set free. you could not pay me to take a side on a situation if i don’t know both sides of the story. everyone’s so scared by this out, proud, lesbian woman who’s not afraid to use her own voice that they decided that they just hang onto every single smallest situation she gets herself into and turn it into a whole smear campaign. society’s eagerness to dogpile on a woman just because she did something that displeased them reeks of a lack of critical thinking. some people could not fully understand some circumstances to save their lives. the worst part about it is that they don’t even try to understand.
it’s quite clear that a large majority of people have been waiting for chappell to do something terrible. they don’t even need to hear her own side of things before they participate in a full fledged attack. they just hate to see a thriving, proud lesbian woman with audacity having a great career. the fact that people want to dismantle that because they’re terrified of the woman she presents herself to be shows how people can’t fathom someone being complex. this type of thing reeks of genuine misogyny and lesbophobia because if a straight man acted with the same fervor chappell does, then the masses would praise him. whereas with chappell, people like to invent controversies just because she did something. it is also insanity to see women joining in on the hate train. also, people are acting like SHE did something to physically har the kid. it was her bodyguard. you can’t blame her for other people’s actions.
