@Mmkg53 Hello! Thank you so much and I'm glad you like Heist! Some tips:
- Use proper grammar, whether it be something you learned in class or online
- Draw attention to important dialogue by putting it in it's own paragraph
- Proofread! (I can help as well)
- Use unconventional words to describe color, if you Google "color thesaurus", the images are really helpful
- Describe objects and people with similes and metaphors
- When writing a kiss scene, make sure to include build up: character's emotions before it happens
- If you have one, write on a laptop instead of a phone, it is easier to see mistakes
- Don't pressure yourself to write if you don't feel like it, you're better off just waiting
- Be patient; good ideas are kind of hard to find; once you have one, give yourself a week to think about it and plan before starting a story
- End most chapters with cliffhangers!
- Include angsty parts and fluffy parts
- Commas are important
- Aim for chapters that are about 700-1K words
- To start, a book that is 20-30 parts is also good
- I forgot the last one that was really important but if I remember, I'll add it here! I hope this helps! ❤
