@IchBinKeineEnte @Ellanisana Ich meinte eher so grundsätzlich, weil Schicksal (d.h. alles ist vorbestimmt, es ist uns Menschen nur nicht klar) und der Freie Wille (d.h. jeder Mensch hat die volle Kontrolle über seine Entscheidungen und ist für diese verantwortlich) schließen sich ja aus

Ich hab mir heute die Haare geschnitten. Ist zwar nicht so prima gelungen, aber ich habe absolut keine Lust, je wieder dafür zu zahlen, dass irgendjemand mich für ne halbe Stunde oder so gefühlt durchgehend fragt, ob ich mir tatsächlich sicher sei, dass ich kurze Haare haben möchte, und mir sie dann auch nach zwanzig Bestätigungen trotzdem nicht so macht, wie ich sie haben will. Da ist sogar ein mehr oder weniger sichtbar asymmetrischer DIY-Schnitt tausendmal besser...
Und was habt ihr so gemacht?

@seelenzerbrochen Check ich schon. Allerdings sind es aber auch nur Haare, die wachsen sowieso nach. Ich bin zwar spät dran mit der Antwort, aber willst du drüber reden oder so?

Ich bin zwar nicht bei meiner jüngsten Schwester geoutet (obwohl ich mir natürlich alle Mühe gebe, sie über queere Identitäten aufzuklären, weil der Rest meiner Familie das niemals freiwillig tun würde; jedenfalls wäre Akzeptanz an sich daher eigentlich kein Problem), aber sie gibt mir ständig männliche Spitznamen und irgendwie verunsichert mich das teilweise voll weil ich mir dann eben doch nicht mehr ganz sicher bin, ob ich nicht lieber bspw. Ludwig oder Anton heißen sollte...

Ich hatte vor Kurzem eine Diskussion mit nem SVP-Wähler auf Social Media. Da mir dieses Thema aufgrund meiner eigenen Erfahrungen sehr nahegeht, bereitet euch demnächst auf ein Kapitel über Rechtsextremismus in der Schweiz in meinem Zeug-Buch vor.

@Helium4He4 Schweizerische Volkspartei, ein Vorbild der AfD. Aber weil so viele Leute die wählen (ist die meistgewählte Partei im Land und das schon ziemlich lange) sind solche Positionen hier extrem normalisiert
Das haben zwar schon recht viele Leute gesagt, aber auch mein Beileid gilt den Sachsen-Anhalter*innen.
Dass es soweit gekommen ist, ist traurig und schockierend, aber im Angesicht der momentanen Lage leider nicht sonderlich überraschend. Besonders jetzt gilt also: stabil bleiben. Wir dürfen uns nicht einschüchtern lassen. Solidarität ist eine mächtige Waffe im Kampf gegen den Rechtsextremismus und wir müssen sie nutzen.

Random historical anecdote.
Upon learning that Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) didn't believe in God, Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904) – a devout Catholic himself – wrote, "Such a man, such a fine soul – and he believes in nothing! He believes in nothing!" However, despite their differing religious beliefs, they remained lifelong friends.
Also, on a side note, the emphasis in 'Dvořák' is actually on the second syllable. Ever since I realised that, I find his name funny and feel terrible about it because all I can hear now when I say it is 'Dvor-zsák,' with 'zsák' meaning 'bag/sack' in Hungarian...

@happy_little_crystal That's true, but I also don't know many Hungarians on here, so if I did speak the language most of my followers wouldn't understand it...

Two things I learned today!
1. Aside from misgendering, there is also de-gendering and malgendering. De-gendering is when someone keeps using gender-neutral language for a person even though they have clarified their gender because their gender presentation doesn't correspond to stereotypes. Malgendering is when their transgender identity is weaponised against trans people to deny them expertise, or, more broadly, when people only gender a trans* person correctly when it supports their point. E.g. to claim that a trans man has no right to speak about misogyny because he's a man despite having experienced it before his transition.
2. Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) loved coffee. He possessed a coffee machine, and every morning, he would brew coffee from exactly 60 coffee beans to drink. (Also, these are things I've known for a while, but they're rarely talked about, so. He was also deaf and not white.)
@seelenzerbrochen Originally the Kreutzer Sonata was composed for a violinist named Bridgetower (forgot his first name) who Beethoven was close with, with the dedication saying something along the lines of 'from one mixed guy to another.' Then they had an argument because Bridgetower fell in love with a girl, and in his rage about that Beethoven changed the dedication and instead gifted the sonata to the next best person, that being Rodolphe Kreutzer, who was then mad at Beethoven because a) the work wasn't intended for him so the dedication is worthless, especially since Beethoven had already performed the piece with Bridgetower, and b) he thought it was unnecessarily difficult and something he knew that Beethoven knew he wouldn't like to play

@seelenzerbrochen Absolutely Yes! I actually don't know that much about Beethoven in general... (he started losing his hearing at the age of 20 and was almost completely deaf in his later years. Also the part about his not having been white is quite interesting because he bonded over that with other mixed musicians. The best example may be the story behind the Kreutzer Sonata, though that didn't end well)
