EPILOGUE now posted ❤️ THANK YOU for 2k+ reads :’) Happy 3rd Month (since the first chapter was posted!) if you guys only knew how much planning went into this. Some of my notes about this story date back to 2022 pa 💌
I’ve been trying to write Cat and Lake’s story for as long as I can remember. It started with a lot of angst, and I wanted it to be an academic rivalry. I even had some tropes that didn’t make it to the final cut… until now, it’s a completely new story and not even close to what I initially imagined it would be :’)
It’s now a story about Catalina, who had a privileged life but faced challenging family dynamics and an insecure attachment style. Studying Psychology made me realize how far our attachment styles can affect each other. It’s not as simple as “miscommunication” or “misunderstandings.” I wanted to explore a more damning truth about human experience: that at the end of the day, most of us are afraid to be “seen,” to be vulnerable, and to open up when we know we might get hurt. This stems from how our parents took care of us as children and how our attachment styles are continuously reshaped and modeled by our new friends, relationships, and even enemies.
I want the series to delve into human nature, the morally gray parts of who we are, and how love can transform us and help us figure ourselves out along the way (not just romantic love!). ❤️
Hugs to all of us, those who relate to Lake and Cat’s story, who found themselves rooting for these characters even when they made bad decisions. At the end of the day, it’s what makes us human 💌
Happy reading :) one last time (for this book)!
