I am a college professor with an extensive background in English, so I recognize good writing when I see it. My own writing has a certain degree of technical proficiency, but in terms of overall artistic creative ability and pure writing talent, I’m not ashamed to admit that mysterixus_girl’s skills far exceed my own. For all my technical skill, I admit my writing can feel rather dry, trite, and ordinary like a stale piece of bread. On the other hand, mysterixus_girl’s writing feels alive, engaging, and original like an exciting new work of art.
The lore she develops is extensive and complex enough to go way over my head, but she has always been generous and patient in explaining anything I don’t fully understand. Her characters are living, breathing entities, and I’ve grown personally attached to many of them. The plots to her stories are engaging and can be as complicated as her lore. Countless times I’ve thought I had everything figured out only to be completely surprised by unexpected twists and turns I never saw coming in the story.
In short, everything mysterixus_girl writes has kept me on my toes, offered perspectives that made me think in new and unexpected ways, and, despite my being older and more experienced, has completely schooled me repeatedly with her vastly superior skills as a writer and her ideas/views as a young person. She may not have been writing as long as I have, but she has really opened my eyes to how much more I have to learn and develop as a writer. As good as she is, her skills are only going to get better as she continues writing.
