Happy belated 2021 lovelies

One thing that bugs me so much- (and I literally saw something about Suga actually a few minutes ago)- is when people make Kenma so out of canon. Now here, don't get me wrong, sometimes out of canon characterisation isn't all bad, right??? But the problem is that Kenma is a literal video game playing, aggressive but shy at the same time, "I don't give a fuck" type gremlin. And people go the lengths to make him so soft and sweet and "uwu, I'm swee lil cat boi that only listens to Kuroo uwu" which is not who he is at all. Like the problem is, his only personality feeds off of Kuroo... or whoever he's shipped with in the particular fanfic. Like come on. He has a damn personality. If one of your characters in a ship is bland enough for people to notice that the only personality they have is derived from their partner... you've put yourself into a real pickle there, son
          Now, I've read many fanfics where they get Kenma's character spot on and it makes me very happy and I leave the fanfic very satisfied... but then there are others I'll read and I gotta go- because Kenma is such a lil soft boy that only pays attention to Kuroo. And it's basically like "oh uwu I put my vi'eo games down for kuroo uwu" "I love kuroo uwu" "I'm kuroo's lil kitten uwu" and it is so damn annoying. As a Kenma kin myself, it bugs the shit out of me. Not because you're making him out of canon... but because the out of canon is BAD and it's a downgrade from the canonical character himself.
          An example of a GOOD out of canon character is Bakugou... or Monoma... or Hinata sometimes even. There are good out of canon characters, and they don't take anything away from the o.g character, the out of canon just adds more depth. And people don't seem to be able to do that for Kenma and it makes me so pissy
          I dunno, do y'all agree??
