handle it swiftly—we don’t have all day, unfortunately.

@akillingword: perhaps when we’ve accomplished of all that we have planned. [kenjaku uses their hand to lightly dust away the stain on their kariginu. it would be troublesome to face any scrutiny, especially in the current host in which the the entity took on in this era. tight-lipped, and eyes closed, they finally curl into a knowing smile. one that beckoned kiyoshō to hurry before wandering eyes would choose to follow them. kenjaku did not have time to exercise patience, they were far too behind, and their were far too many plans that needed to be executed in a day’s time.] it sounds like a splendid time to visit, and surely the needless noise will cease itself finally.. [dark eyes trail to the creature, frame cowering before a sickly, twisted grin arises.] though i do prefer the late spring, it’s never quite the same when the cloud’s are covering the skies. (mmm), that’s enough. quiet it.

@illcurse is it that time already, kenjaku? what a shame.. i was just beginning to enjoy myself 。°(°¯᷄◠¯᷅°)°。 this place is awfully nice—very quiet, too—we’ve ought to go back here when we have the time. [kiyoshō lets out a quiet sigh, turning to look at her partner-in-crime. the scene: kenjaku’s gaze is already piercing through her body, looking at her expectedly like an owner waiting for their attack dog to strike. and like always, kiyoshō takes a few steps forward. wordlessly, she rolls up her sleeves; blood trickles down her forearms and hands, a common sight for kiyoshō, especially with her newfound freedom from the kamo clan. it seems like everyday she strays further away from the girl she once was. . stepping closer to something far from human. briefly, she turns back to kenjaku, their eyes meeting. she speaks.] …perhaps we shall return when fall arrives and the spider lilies begin to bloom. what do you think?

there’s no need to help me. i deserve it.

世界を解く、@nonevessel: nonsense, don’t be foolish, renya. come here, i’ll fix your wounds. end of discussion. i don’t want to hear any further excuses— i know i don’t exactly understand how you and your brain works but i can’t imagine a real reason as to why you’d deserve this..(`Δ´)! [kiyoshō gestures for renya to come closer, eyes already scanning him up and down for any more visible damage. fingers momentarily curl into a fist before unfurling as she notices a particularly nasty scrape on his arm. she looks at the other in disbelief, eyebrows knitting together.] you’re unbelievable sometimes, you know that?

a thousand years might have passed, but i would forever know you.

akillingword

you know, when you had died all those years ago— [kiyoshō pauses, as if the topic is difficult for her to discuss. (if it is, she would never confess this truth, not to kenjaku, or even herself.) she looks away for a brief moment, her features faltering before she continues.] i did not grant myself the right to mourn. i figured i ought not to cause you any more anguish beyond the grave. it’d be too selfish of me, and that’s saying quite a lot, don’t you think? i had passed not too long after you though, it was during the spring, i believe. (it felt weirdly peaceful for a bit, finally getting to rest, but /they/ were quick to take that from me, but oh well. i suppose it was karma.) —but tell me, do you still believe me redeemable, or are we past that point now? (^__^)?

@nonevessel i feel the same way about you, rensei. you’ve left quite the mark on me, and i still haven’t figured out a way to wipe myself clean of it, even an eternity later. (not that i’ve ever been too keen on trying to get rid of it, anyways.) it’s like you’ve cursed me, (x_x). [a thousand years apart and kiyoshō still finds it in herself to talk to rensei as if no time or space has ever separated them, almost as if picking up from a conversation cut short just like it were yesterday. she is still the same sinner which he knew in the heian era with all of her rotten and impure glory now for the world to see, and he is still the same vagabond which she knew, standing before her like a lotus that has bloomed for a second time. although, not every flower is to be admired. eyes are quick to glance over rensei’s new vessel before they meet his gaze, and for a moment, kiyoshō swears the two are back in the heian era, showing rensei the ugliest parts of her soul whilst a path of blood trails behind in the snow. it’s a thought not too far off from their current reality, however, now rensei has accumulated the same amount of impurity in his own heart & soul and kiyoshō has even more ugly that he is yet to see. after a moment, the butcher continues to speak. there is a faint smile on her face.]

it’s pointless, this—this violence.

akillingword

@nonevessel … i don’t think you’re seeing the bigger picture here, ren’ya. [the scene, set a thousand years in the past: ᵀhere’s an aroma that carries through the winter air which consumes the pair’s senses as they stand together— it can be distinctly recognized as the stench of death. just past kiyoshō’s shoulders, the source of the stench becomes evident; newly deceased bodies & disfigured amalgamations from her cursed technique, a trail of blood laying in her wake.] there’s a point to this. and purpose, too. (it’ll all make sense one day,) but i think what’s really pointless is sitting around and doing nothing. this world is rotten— it’s weak with dormant potential— and someone has to do something about that, don’t you think? [kiyoshō’s eyes meet the vagabond’s, an unreadable expression across her face. ren’ya’s looks the same, she thinks. he looks a little older now, and his eyes tell a story that she knows she’ll likely never get to hear, but nonetheless he still looks the same. the butcher speaks.] i’ve laid out my path, (..) you should lay yours out, too. one day wandering and playing the biwa won’t be enough, you know. and perhaps once you’ve set out your path shall both of our stories intersect again.
