Hi guys! Hope you're all well!
Chapter 8 of Never Again will be up tonight or tomorrow. I'm just doing one last pass. This is the Gala chapter.
I'm incredibly excited because this is where everything finally goes into motion, including Bucky and Y/N meeting for the first time. It starts in the most insane way, and I've spent almost a year perfecting it because I'm a perfectionist and my own worst critic.
For those who found the grieving, political dialogue, and slower plot boring—I completely understand. But it was necessary. This story begins with the reader literally killing Bucky's wife, then becoming a prisoner in the home they shared. That setup needed time.
I couldn't jump straight into the action without explaining why Y/N has to stay with him instead of going to prison or Avengers Tower. I also needed to show how deeply Bucky loved Asa and how desperate Y/N is to recover that necklace. These characters are incredibly complex, and Y/N isn't the stereotypical Hydra villain. I'm trying to keep her as realistic as possible because all of this is what drives the story forward.
Chapters 1–7 are the foundation. This is an enemies-to-enemies story—something messy, toxic, and incredibly complicated. It took me seven chapters to build that world, and now we finally get to the payoff.
If you've stayed with me this far, thank you. The story is about to pick up in a major way.
Thank you again. I hope you end up loving Bucky and Y/N (codename: Hayden) as much as I do. They've truly become my new babies.
