@alannahmb Well, I started with a fanfic since it was easier to write if I based it off something and it was something quite a few people knew. But I'd you think you can't come up with a story from the plot, then a fanfic. Or you could write an AU (alternate universe), which is where you take characters from a book, anime etc... and put them in a universe you've made up (i.e high school AU) or a universe from a book, anime etc... (i.e Percy Jackson)
